♀MUJER(ES)

Featuring Antonia Jimenez, Inma “La Carbonera”, Sol “La Argentinita” and special invited guest, Rosario Toledo with Xianix Barrera.

♀Mujer(es), an all-female flamenco theatrical production, explores and celebrates the role of women in all facets of flamenco: song (cante), guitar (toque), and dance (baile). We are living in an important and monumental moment in time for women. A time when our strength and resiliency is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. Historically, women in Spain, trickling into flamenco, during the Franco era, were treated as second-class citizens. They were not given the same opportunities as men, their voices were not heard, and their skills and talents as artists were not acknowledged. These ideas are slowly starting to shift. Now is the time to showcase the undeniable and incredible impact that an all-female flamenco production can have.
