Technique + Tarantos Choreography
Sundays 11:00-12:00pm at El Barrio’s Artspace
Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm at Flamenco Vivo
Intermediate/Advanced class is the highest level offering for students who have consistently studied flamenco for at least three years. The class is divided into technique and choreography. In technique we establish a strong foundation in: floreo (hand movements), braceo (arm movements), zapateado/taconeo (footwork), marcajes (marking steps), compas y palmas (rhythms and hand-clapping), giros (turns) and proper placement of the body. The other half focuses on the choreography (while still breaking down the technique for the steps). This semester’s choreography is TARANTOS. All students are expected to make time to practice on their own in order to progress in their training (which can be as little as 5-15 minutes a day). Email for further details.
